Born & raised in Calgary, Alberta, Mattie started her career in policy as an executive with the University of Calgary’s Students’ Union, later managing the Albertan Calgary-Cross constituency office, before shifting towards supporting industrial & trade reforms, regulatory reviews from land, to transportation, to energy, and providing advisory support to decision makers across Canada. Mattie served over a decade with Canada’s Cadet Instructor Cadre leading departments and local units prior to retiring in 2020 at the rank of Lieutenant(N). She is renown for applying policy lessons to campaigns and vice versa, organising fieldworkers and coordinating tactics to serve strategy making gains and lasting wins across Canada.
